Frateschi

The Brazilian company Indústrias Reunidas Frateschi is a model railway manufacturer based in Ribeirão Preto, near São Paulo. Today is mainly exported to Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, United States, France, Spain, Switzerland, South Africa, Indonesia, Taiwan, New Zealand and Australia. He is the only model railway manufacturer in South America.

History

In 1958, the Toy Factory Frateschi of Galileu Frateschi was founded, the plush animals, wooden furniture and metal coatings produced. There followed the first model railway products such as telephone poles and utility poles. In 1967, the Toy Factory Frateschi was renamed after Indústrias Reunidas Frateschi Ltda to fully concentrate on the model trains. In 1973, the first catalog was published. In 1988, the last number 44 of Informativo Frateschi was released, which was then replaced by the journal Revista Brasileira De Ferreomodelismo in 1988. In 1993, the collaboration with Atlas and exports to the United States began. On 22 August 2009, the 13 ° meeting of model railroaders of Frateschi was held in São Carlos.
