Frauenfeld–Wil railway

The Frauenfeld -Wil -Bahn (FW ) is a meter gauge railway in Switzerland, which connects the Murg Valley in the canton of Thurgau Frauenfeld with the cities and Wil. Your gauge is 1000 mm. History

The Murg Valley gained from the middle of the 19th century more and more industries. So you needed a fast and effective transport to compete with other industrial regions. The Association of Friends of Swiss narrow gauge railways (FSS ) has historic rolling stock FW. The FW- anniversary train consisting of the BCe 2/4 1 ( 1921), the BC 16 ( 1887), the L 105 (1887 ) and the K 164 (1891 ). During the railcars and freight cars are set in brown color in Roggwil in the canton of Bern, the BC 16 is parked in the blue colors of the Furka Cogwheel Steam Railway ( DFB) in Interlaken outdoors.

In the summer of 2011, the Frauenfeld -Wil -Bahn ordered five new articulated railcars worth 28.5 million euros at the company Stadler Rail. The five new railcars consist of three trailers, one of which is a first - class compartment, and replace in the tooths Be 4/4 11-15. The cars 16-17 to be kept in stock for the time being.
