Fred Basset

Root (English Fred Basset ) is a comic strip about a dog of the breed Basset, who describes his experiences with masters and mistresses of dogs view in a humorous way with ironic comments.

The strip was created in 1963 by the Scottish comic artist Alexander S. Graham ( 1913-1991 ). Since Graham's death the Strip from the artist Michael Martin and Graham's daughter Arran Graham is supervised. The target group is especially dog lovers. The 50 - year celebration took place on July 8, 2013 Arran Graham in Germany in the literature Bistro Duisburg City Library instead.

Publication

Root first appeared in the British newspaper Daily Mail on 8th July 1963. Since then ( Pitko over 15,000 comic strips, including in Italy ( as Lillo ), Switzerland, Austria, Norway ( Lorang ), Sweden ( Laban ) and Finland appeared and retu ). Since 1963, over 70 anthologies were published in the UK. Every year since 1978, a month calendar appears. In Germany, a total of 14 volumes were published (from 1976 to 2008 ), the B & L publishing two volumes, the BSE publishing two volumes, in Goldmann Verlag three volumes, in the Heyne publishing four volumes, published by Frankfurter books in Societäts -Verlag and Lingen Verlag each tape. For 2014, a new anthology is planned, which has Wurzels early years ( 1963-1975 ) on the subject
