Fred von Lohmann

Fred von Lohmann is an American attorney who is currently working with the Internet service provider Google as legal counsel in copyright issues. Prior to joining Google in July 2010 was by Lohmann as a lawyer in the service of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, where he specialized in intellectual property issues. He represented at this time especially programmers in a variety of copyright and trademark law processes.

Prior to joining the EFF, he was a visiting researcher at the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology and co-workers at the international law firm of Morrison & Foerster LLP. In the U.S., he is quoted in the frequent media and already came to appearances on CNN and CNBC. His education completed by Lohmann at Stanford University and at the corresponding Law School. For his achievements he has already been awarded the California Lawyer of the Year Award and the L. Ray Patterson Copyright Award and was in 2010, according to the trade journal The American Lawyer as one of the 25 most influential people in the IT sector.
