Free Component Library

The Free Component Library ( FCL abbreviated ) is a software component library for Free Pascal.

The FCL is a collection of units that provide components and classes for common tasks. Although compatibility with Delphi's Visual Component Library (VCL ) was carried out, the FCL is restricted to non-visual components; other hand, their functionality is partially beyond the VCL. Visual components are provided by the LCL of the development environment Lazarus.

The FCL is based in turn on the Free Pascal RTL.
