Freek de Jonge

January Frederik Georg ( Freek ) de Jonge ( born August 30, 1944 in Westernieland, community De Marne, Netherlands) is a Dutch comedian. Since the 1970s, he is one of the most famous of his subject; his often political solo programs are characterized by both ingenuity and Grobianismen.

Life and career

Freek de Jonge is the son of a Calvinist preacher, and grew up near Zaandam. As a 11- year-old he was on stage for the first time. He studied cultural anthropology in Amsterdam and met Bram Vermeulen, with whom he founded the group Neerlands Hoop (Hope the Netherlands). In 1980 his solo career.

Famous include his Oudejaarsconferences ( New Year's Eve programs ), with whom he continues a tradition among other things, the old master Wim Kan. In addition, he has published books, worked in film and television and won numerous awards. A great sales success brought him ( with Robert Jan Stips and his band ) the song He is leven na de dood (1997) a, which became known in Germany through the Black Fööss. The original is here by Bob Dylan. Another hit song is army raised meelij met de Belgen.

The politically left- de Jonge presents intelligent, artful composite programs and is not afraid before coarse vulgarity, obscene and politically offensive back. Usually a program is licensed under a motto that serves as a common thread.

De Jonge is married to Hella de Jonge and has two children.
