French submarine Terrible (S619)

Le Terrible ( " The Terrible " ) is the fourth and last national nuclear submarine of the Triomphant class of the Navy.

The keel was laid on 24 October 2000. The launch was on March 21, 2008., The boat was put into service on 20 September 2010.

The submarine is equipped as one of the first strategic nuclear submarines with submarine -based intercontinental ballistic missiles of the type M51. Compared to the M45 ICBM, which is used in the moment to the nuclear submarines, has the M51 over a larger range of estimated 8000 km (M -45: 6000 km) and higher accuracy (50 m).
