Freshlyground

Freshlyground (German freshly ground) is a South African band that was founded in 2002 in Cape Town. The band members come from South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Their music contains elements of African music such as Kwela, Blues, Jazz and Independent. Lead singer is Zolani Mahola.

2010 steered the group along with Shakira at the official song for the FIFA World Cup 2010 Waka Waka ( This Time for Africa ). This is a version of the song Zangalewa of the Cameroonian band Golden Sounds, which was published in 1986.
