Fresnicourt -le- Dolmen is a commune with 837 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Pas -de- Calais, in the Nord -Pas -de -Calais.

Dolmen

Situated on the territory Dolmen Table aux fées (the table of the fairies ), one of the finest megalithic monuments in the northern region, the municipality gave her name and was admitted to the crest. Dolmen in France is the generic term for all types of megaliths (see: French nomenclature ).

Table aux fées is the last of four plants of which existed in the mid-19th century still fragments. The others were processed end of the 19th century blocks. The dolmen owes its survival apparently a lightning strike, by losing the sand stone quality. A horizontally opposed, but abgerutschter flat capstone rested on several supporting stones. Presumably, the monument was covered by a hill and formed a tumulus. It belongs to the genre, as they occur frequently in the valley of the Somme.
