Friedrich-August-Kreuz

The Friedrich -August Cross was founded on September 24, 1914 by Grand Duke Friedrich August of Oldenburg in two classes and was the award for all individuals prior military or civilen provided which have distinguished themselves excellently during the war.

Order decoration

The embossed black iron cross is similar to the Iron Cross. In the medallion the initials of the founder FA are ( Friedrich August) to see. In the upper arm of the cross is a crown and the lower cross arm the year included 1914. Between the arms of the cross, a laurel wreath winds. The back of the cross is smooth.

Carrying method

While the first class is a cross slot, the second class, which has smaller dimensions, worn on the belt of the House Order.

The ribbon is dark blue with ponceauroten side stripes. Non-combatants received the Cross of the reverse band - ponceaurot with blue side stripes.
