Fritz Sarasin

Fritz Sarasin ( born December 3, 1859 in Basel, † March 23, 1942 in Lugano; actually Karl Friedrich Sarasin ) was a Swiss naturalist and ethnologist. Paul Sarasin was his cousin.

He traveled to Ceylon, Celebes, New Caledonia and Siam.

He was the first president of the Ethnological Society founded in 1923, Geo- Basel, which also included Hugo Hassinger ( 1877-1952 ) and Felix Speiser - Merian ( 1880-1949 ).
