Fritz Spindler

Fritz Spindler ( * November 24, 1817 in Wurzbach, Thuringia, † December 26, 1905 in Niederlößnitz ) was a German pianist and composer.

Life

Spindler initially wanted to be pastors and initially studied Protestant theology, but gave this up in favor of his love for music. In Dessau, he studied piano with Friedrich Schneider and thereafter devoted himself to teaching and composition. In 1841, Spindler settled in Dresden and has published over four hundred compositions, most of them written for piano.
