Front Flying Clasp of the Luftwaffe
The Frontflugspange was donated by the commander of the Luftwaffe Hermann Göring on 30 January 1941. You could be imparted in its various versions to all members of the Air Force and should be a " visible sign of appreciation for parole at front line in the air," as it was called in the award determination.
Award conditions
There was the award in different versions, according to the operating range of the Beliehenen for:
- Hunting associations
- Destroyer associations
- Battle associations
- Combat and combat units fall
- Reconnaissance and distress associations, weather reconnaissance squadrons
- Transport and Airborne Associations
- Nahnachtjagdverbände
- Long-range night hunting associations
From 20 Front flights, the Frontflugspange in bronze was awarded from 60 flights in front of silver and from 110 flights front in gold. Very often more than 110 flights were completed front during the war. Therefore one added on 26 June 1942, Goering the trailer (asterisk) to the golden Frontflugspange added, which was mounted to move below the clasp. This pendant was at
- Hunting and transport associations after at least 500,
- Stuka, destroyers and battle associations after at least 400,
- Combat, distress associations and weather reconnaissance squadrons of at least 300
- Reconnaissance and night fighter units by at least 250 front flights

The " trailer for the golden Frontflugspange with number " was founded on 29 April 1944. This one stood out individual numbers of flights in front steps of 100. At the same time, Goering had the Frontflugspange introduced in gold with diamonds, whose ceremony but he reserved himself. The Stukaflieger Oberst Hans- Ulrich Rudel flew 2,530 missions. He was awarded in gold with diamonds and the trailer with the use of the number 2,000 Frontflugspange. The " diamonds " used in the design of the application number proved in later analysis usually as forgeries or were of very low quality, such as a sighting of the Order of the estate of the pack revealed.
Others
According to the law on titles, medals and decorations from 26 July 1957 wearing the award in the version of the Third Reich in the Federal Republic of Germany is only permitted without Nazi emblems.
