The Fröttstädt railway station is in Fröttstädt ( district of Gotha, Thuringia ) on the railway Halle- Bebra and is the starting point of the single-track branch line to Friedrichroda. The compounds in the nearby towns of Erfurt, Gotha and Eisenach are well developed ( regional train hall -Eisenach ). For example, Gotha in less than ten minutes and Erfurt in about 30 minutes away.

History

The opened in 1847 by the Thuringian Railway Company railway Weissenfels - Gerstungen led north past the town of Walter Hausen, so that a horse-drawn railway was opened by an Fröttstädt by Walter Hausen 1848. This Fröttstädt was the starting point of the first side rail of Thuringia. This railway was built in 1874 as part of the conversion to steam operation for railway Fröttstedt -Walter Hausen- Friedrichroda whose management was in 1876 leased to the Central Administration for Secundairbahnen Herrmann Bachstein. This expansion was the Fröttstädt station to the wedge station with the station building between the tracks of the two routes. The branch line to Friedrichroda was taken along with other tracks in the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha in 1889 by the Prussian State Railway, that they to George valley extended in 1896 and 1907 to 1912 to Schnepfenthal goal for a second track, but this was already 1942/1943 dismantled. After the opening of Thüringerwaldbahn 1929, the travel took off on the side road. 1947, the tracks were dismantled between Friedrichroda and George Thal, to be brought as war reparations to the Soviet Union. Until the decline of the industry as a result of reunification dominated the freight. This was largely discontinued in 1994. Passenger traffic was converted in 1998 to a regular timetable.
