FS Class E.405

The E.405 Trenitalia was built from 1998 to 2002 in 42 units of Adtranz, Bombardier later.

History

The locomotive was not originally built for Italy, but for the Polish railway. In Poland, she went under the series designation EU11 until the arrival in Italy the name was preserved. In 2003 she was repainted in the colors of Trenitalia and got the series designation E.405.

The series is traveling on the Brenner route for services or between Verona Porta Nuova and burner for towing services.

Technically

The locomotive runs at a voltage of 3 kV DC. It is modular, and so many parts can be replaced with similar locomotives.
