Fuad I of Egypt

Fu'ad I. (Arabic al - awwal فؤاد الأول Fu'ad, DMG Fu ʾ al - AD Auwal, often as Fuad transcribed; born March 26, 1868 in Cairo, † April 28, 1936 ibid ) was from 1922 to 1936 King of Egypt.

He was the son of the Khedive ( Viceroy ) Ismail Pasha, born in 1868 in Cairo and was followed in 1917 his brother Hussein Kamil as Sultan on the throne of Egypt, built by the British Protectorate of the Sultanate of Egypt. After the independence of Egypt (1922 ) he took the title of king. His reign was marked by the rejection of the continuing British influence and the nationalist Wafd Party. Ultimately, however, he was a personal government without the participation of the Wafd Party, not enforce. Successor of Fu'ad I was his son Farouk I
