The wind turbine Laasow was from September 2006 to December 2012 with a hub height of 160 m, the highest wind turbine in the world. It was completed after three months of construction on 14 September 2006 by the company Fuhrländer in place Laasow ( district of Vetschau / Spreewald).

The plant of the type of transit countries FL 2500 consists of a steel lattice tower, on which a rotor with 90 meters diameter rotating. The total height of the top rotor revolution is thus about 205 m. The machine produces a maximum rated power of 2.5 MW. When commissioning an electric energy output of 7200 MWh / year was forecast. The electrical energy is processed with a double-fed asynchronous machine and a water-cooled frequency converter.

Operator of the plant is the company EFI Wind GmbH (formerly SeeBA Energy Farming ).

In December 2012, it was replaced as the highest wind power plant. In the Polish wind farm Nowy Tomyśl were two wind turbines of the same type ( Fuhrländer FL 2500), also with 160 meter high lattice tower, but 100 meter rotor diameter, built. These systems are thus about 210 m high.
