History

The company was founded in 1923 as Fuji Denki Seizo KK (富士 电机 制造 株式会社, Eng. Fuji Electric Company) established with the German Siemens as a joint venture between Furukawa Denki Kōgyō (古河 电 気 工业). The name Fuji was here composed of the initial syllables of Furukawa and Jīmensu ( [ zi: mens ] ), the Japanese pronunciation for Siemens. 1935, the field of communications was as Fuji Tsushinki Seizo, today's Fujitsu, hived off. The logo was originally from a circled überlagterten "f" and "S" as a symbol. 1984 Fuji Denki Seizo K. K. was Fuji Denki K. K. (富士 电机 株式会社) renamed and transferred to a pure holding company in 2003.

Nuclear Engineering

Fuiji Denki has been involved since the beginning of the commercial use of nuclear power in Japan in the development, construction and operation of nuclear power plants. Business are equipment for fuel preparation and handling ( glove boxes, robots), the dismantling of nuclear power plants, and the treatment of radioactive waste. The company also participates in the development of Japanese high temperature gas cooled reactor, HTGR, a reactor of Generation IV
