Furukawa Group

The Furukawa Group (Japanese古河 グループFurukawa Gurūpu ) is a Japanese Keiretsu reaching back to 1875, among others in the fields of electronics, electrical engineering, chemical industry ( pesticides) and mechanical engineering (robotics) is active.

Precursor of the group is the Furukawa zaibatsu, which was dissolved after the Second World War by the American occupation authorities ( SCAP / GHQ). The founder was Furukawa Ichibei.

After the war, the companies of the zaibatsu joined by ( cross-over ) Shares loosely, so they remained formally independent of each other, and formed the Furukawa Group. Is headed the group from Furukawa Sansuikai (古河 三水 会), ten core companies of the last Zaibatsu. Overall, the group of 51 companies there.
