The Fuji T -7 is a beginners training aircraft, which was produced by Fuji Heavy Industries for the Japanese Air Self-Defense Forces. The T-7 was developed from the Fuji T-3 and is one of a turboprop low-wing monoplane with retractable tricycle landing gear driven.

History

The Fuji T- 7 was developed to meet a requirement of the Japanese air self-defense forces for a new beginner and advanced trainer aircraft, which was to replace the Fuji T-3. To this end, an international tender process was carried out in 1998. The T-7 trainer won against the Pilatus PC -7 Turbo. Due to a corruption scandal that cost the workplace a number of managers of Fuji, the tender was carried out again. Again, the T-7 won (then as T-3 Kai called ). In September 2000, production was started and passed the first aircraft in September 2002.

Construction

The T-7 is a modified version of the T -3, which was itself a development which in turn derived from the Beech T-34 Fuji KM -2. It was the cell of the T-3 used in the place of the Lycoming piston engine, a Allison 250 turboprop engine was installed.
