Full Metal Village is a German documentary of Korean director Cho Sung- hyung, shot in the years 2005 and 2006 in the village of Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein, venue of the Wacken Open Air festival. The film was produced by Flying Moon.

Content

The focus of the film focuses on the inhabitants of the small town, which is flooded annually to the open- air festival of fans of the heavy metal scene. On the first weekend in August to about 85,000 fans from around the world meet in Wacken, which is one of only 1,800 inhabitants. The film shows the Wacken in their daily lives and how they experience the time of the festival, in which they are involved to some extent with. The documentary is subtitled home movies.

Reviews

With Full Metal Village for the first time a documentary was awarded the prestigious award in the history of film festivals Max Ophüls. The Jury of the Max Ophüls Prize 2007 praises the film in its grounds as humorous and complex than " entertaining documentary, a fascinating picture of the German identity " deliver.
