Funahashi Seiichi

Funabashi Seiichi (Japanese舟桥 圣 一, also: Funahashi Seiichi; born December 25, 1904 in Tokyo, † January 13, 1976 in Tokyo ) was a Japanese novelist.

Life

He already wrote in his high school years dramas for various magazines. His work also includes short stories, novellas and novels. He participates as an activist on the Shingeki movement. Inspired by the political and humanitarian commitment of the French writer Gide and Malraux, he founded the literary magazine Kodo ( The action). In 1963 he was awarded for Aru onna no enkei (ある 女 の 遠景) the Mainichi Art Award.
