Funky Kingston

Funky Kingston was the first album by the reggae band Toots jamakaikanischen and the Maytals. It was produced by Chris Blackwell and released in 1973. The album is the first of the band that does not consist of previously recorded singles.

The better-known U.S. version is a compilation of the original with the second album of the band, In the Dark. It contains Maytals biggest hit, Pressure Drop, and unusual cover versions, such as John Denver Take Me Home, Country Roads, will be replaced with the "West Virginia " by " West Jamaica".
