Funningsfjørður

Funningsfjørður [ fʊn ː ˌ ɪŋgs FJO ː ɹʊɹ ] (Danish: Funding Fjord ) is a place of the Faroe Islands on the east coast Eysturoys.

Until January 1, 2005 Funningsfjørður belonged to the municipality of Elduvík, which is now merged with that of Runavík.

Funningsfjørður is at the end of the long fjord of the same name. It was founded in 1812. From 1902 to 1913, here was a whaling station.
