FÅ«rinkazan
Fūrinkazan (Japanese风 林 火山, dt " Wind, Forest, Fire and Mountain" ) is the standard of Takeda Shingen in the Sengoku period. It is a four character ( Yojijukugo ) abbreviated quote from chapter seven passage 13 and following of the book The Art of War by Sunzi ( SunTsu ). It reflects the military motto of the Sengoku daimyo resist:
- Verse 13 :故 其 疾如 风,其 徐如林" speed of the wind, unity of the forest. "
- Verse 14:侵掠 如火,不 动 如 山" dip and devastating fire. Immobile ( Unumschwenkbar ) as a mountain. "
About the author of the script
Shingen was considered undefeated and had only a few indecisive battles with Uesugi Kenshin, his arch-rival. He worked as a supporter of the Rinzai - Shuu (Buddhism ) with Chinese literature and Sunzi remained him as one of the most famous ancient Chinese military strategist not hidden.
Today's use
