The Finnish company Futuremark ( between 1999 and 2002 as MadOnion.com known) develops software, with a focus on benchmarks. The most famous products are the 3DMark series, which evaluate the performance of a 3D test PC system each in a proprietary form. Nevertheless, the 3DMarks in the gaming scene have virtually enforced as a "reference " for synthetic 3D gaming benchmarks. Futuremark's PCMark is primarily used for testing of complete computer configurations ( for production use ) application.

History
