Füzérkajata

Füzérkajata is a town in Borsod -Abaúj -Zemplén.

Geographical Location

Füzérkajata located in the northeast of Hungary on the border with Slovakia. On the road, the village is located 92 km from the county capital Miskolc and 40 km from Košice, the second largest city in Slovakia. The place is located in the upper Hegyköz ( " Between Mountains " ), consisting of the valley of the Bózsva and several side valleys. The municipality is composed of an elongated, agricultural Twin Valley and towards the border a Multifaceted, wooded hills and mountains of volcanic origin together where several valuable mineral springs rise ( Rednek - kút, Fövenyes - kút, Garat - kút ... ). Neighboring municipalities are Biste Filkeháza, Füzér, Füzérkomlós, Füzérradvány, kolbasa, Pusztafalu and Vilyvitány. The nearest towns are Pálháza ( municipal law since 2005 ) 6 km and Sátoraljaújhely 24 km away.

History

The first documentary mention as Kaytha dates from the year 1270. At the time of Árpád was the site of a royal demesne, later moving to the castle Füzér hands several times. After the depopulation of the Turkish period 1686-1945 it belonged to the estate of Count Károlyi Radvány, the then newly settled several surrounding waste places. In contrast to the Slovak and Ruthenian settlers of mixed confessional today Hegyköz Valley Hungarian-speaking serfs Reformed faith were settled in Kajata and Pusztafalu. Before 1918, the village was called Kajátha and belonged to the county Abaúj- Torna, whose capital was Košice. 1918 the spelling was changed to Kajata, since 1930, the official name Füzérkajata. 1920-1938 and 1945-1992 the northern part of the county Abaúj- Torna was part of Czechoslovakia. 1950 Kajata was with the Hungarian Komitatsgebiet part of the collapsed Borsod -Abaúj -Zemplén.

Attractions and natural resources

Worth mentioning is the Evangelical Reformed Church from 1794 and the largely intact buildings, mostly farm houses from the first half of the 20th century. The former church primary school in the village serves as a Senior Day Care Center, the renovated village house was passed in 2007.

A trail between Pusztafalu and Füzérradvány about Kajata marked some geological and natural rarities of the area, including silicified tree stumps that have not been preserved to its importance and flaunted.

Transport links

From Sátoraljaújhely Pálháza and Hollóháza from Füzérkajata can be reached several times daily by bus (some with change in Pálháza ). Nearest stations: Sátoraljaújhely ( line 80 Budapest - Miskolc- Sátoraljaújhely ) Gönc ( line 98 Szerencs - Hidasnémeti ) and Michaľany ( Košice - Čierna Tisou ). A cross-border cycle path towards Pusztafalu - Kassa or Biste-Mihályi/Michaľany is under construction ( 2011). By car, turn in Filkeháza off the road between Pálháza and Füzér or Hollóháza and reached Kajata 4 km away.
