Gabriele Krone-Schmalz

Gabriele Krone-Schmalz ( born November 8, 1949 in Lam ) is a German television journalist and author.

Biography

Gabriele Krone-Schmalz studied Eastern European history, political science, Slavic Studies and a doctorate in 1977 in History and Political Science. Since 1976 she worked mainly for various radio and television broadcasts of the West German Radio.

The vast majority of television viewers, it was known between 1987 and 1992 as a correspondent in the ARD Studio Moscow, where she reported on the collapse of the Soviet Union. Between 1992 and 1997, she hosted the " civilized world mirror" of ARD. Since then she has worked as a freelance journalist. Since the winter semester 2011/12, she has been a professor of TV and media studies at the private college BiTS Iserlohn.

Gabriele Krone-Schmalz has been involved for several years for HIV infected orphans in St. Petersburg. She is the author of several books on Russia, in which they critically investigating, among others, the German image of Russia and the Russian reporting in Germany, she is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Petersburg Dialogue ..

Gabriele Krone-Schmalz is married to the 20 years old former contractor Lothar lard since 1983.
