Medal of Pushkin

The Pushkin Medal (Russian Медаль Пушкина ) is a state medal of Russia.

Purpose

The Pushkin Medal is awarded " for achievements in the field of culture, education, the humanities, literature and art, for a great contribution to the study and preservation of cultural heritage, the approximation and mutual cultural enrichment of nations and peoples ".

The award was created on 9 May 1999 by the first President of the Russian Federation, Boris Yeltsin.

Description of the coin

The Pushkin Medal is made ​​of solid silver. She has a round shape with a diameter of 32 mm with curved edge on both sides. On the front you will find in the middle of the signature of Alexander Pushkin as a relief, including the number of the coin. The reverse of the medal bears the profile of the Russian national poet Pushkin, a self-portrait from 1823.

The medal is worn on a 24 -millimeter-wide ribbon of blue moire silk with a golden longitudinal strips whose width is 2.5 mm and is from the right edge of the strip 5 millimeters away.
