Gaius Asinius Pollio (consul 23)

Gaius Asinius Pollio was a living in the early Roman Empire Member of the gender of Asinier and 23 AD consul.

Gaius Asinius Pollio was a grandson of the same politician and historian and the oldest son of the consul of 8 BC, Gaius Asinius Gallus, with Vipsania Agrippina, the previous wife of Tiberius. In the year 20 AD, he held the office of praetor peregrinus, rising three years thereafter, together with Gaius Antistius Vetus to the ordinary consul. Later he was sent to Münzzeugnissen proconsul of the Roman province of Asia, but only to 38/39 AD, because his father was talking bad relations with Emperor Tiberius because of his marriage.
