Gaius Cornelius Cethegus

Gaius Cornelius Cethegus was a politician of the Roman Republic.

Cethegus was 200 BC proconsul in Spain, and was elected for the following year in the absence of aedile. In this office he taught from magnificent games. During his consulship 197 BC he fought successfully in Cisalpine Gaul against the Insubres and Cenomani and received a triumph. He was elected for 194 BC to censor. End of the year 193 BC he gave along with Scipio Africanus and Marcus Minucius Rufus between Masinissa and Carthage.
