Gajah Mada

Gajah Mada († 1364 ) was from 1331 until his death Prime Minister and military leader of Majapahit. He made the vow " Sumpah Palapa " not to eat spicy food more, are united to large parts of the Malay Archipelago under the power of Majapahit.

Under his reign, the sphere of the kingdom on Java, Sumatra expanded up to Bali in 1343.

Today the Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta bears his name.
