Galatasaray (district)

The Galatasaray Square ( Turkish: Galatasaray Meydanı ) is a square in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district in Turkey. It lies on the Istiklal Caddesi is approximately halfway between Tünel Square and Taksim Square.

The most prominent building on the square is the famous Istanbul's Galatasaray Lisesi elite school. In the immediate vicinity are the British Consulate and the Goethe Institute.

The Galatasaray Square is the scene of frequent political demonstrations.
