The Galatasaray High School ( Galatasaray Lisesi Turkish, French Lycée de Galatasaray ) is an elite school in Istanbul, which was founded by Sultan Bayezid II in 1481 as Galata Sarayi Enderun - u Hümayunu ( " Galata Palace Imperial School "). 1866 high school (French lycée, türk lise ) was opened on the French model as Galatasaray Mekteb -i Sultani ( " Imperial Galatasaray School ").

The Galatasaray High School is located at Galatasaray Square in Istanbul's Galata district in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul's European side. The gymnasium is a Anadolu Lisesi and was established in the former building of the medical colleges. The school was initially divided into three courtyards, one for the younger, middle and older school courses. The school had its own hammam and a hospital. The school program was like the French, with the difference that instead of Latin and Greek here Turkish, Arabic and Persian was taught.
