Galatasaray Men's Water Polo Team

The water polo team Galatasaray Istanbul was first played in the 1910s by Galatasaray students and thereby also for the first time introduced in Turkey. On the Kurucesme Island Water Polo became the match and training grounds, a swimming pool was opened in 1968 Calamis where purchased from now on, all water sports of the association located.

In recent years, they managed to Galatasaray player repeatedly in the top 16 of Europe's top teams, even if there had been at the beginning of the " European adventure " partly tough defeats. At the moment the team between the 9th and 12th place is in the European championship.

In the 2007 /08 season the team was unbeaten Turkish masters. It was the 14th championship in club history.

Venue

Galatasaray wearing their home games at the Galatasaray Olimpik yüzme havuzu ( Galatasaray Olympic Swimming Pool ) from Üsküdar. The swimming pool is asking space for 543 spectators. Prior to the opening on 16 September 2006, the swimming pool was a public bathhouse.
