Galați County
Galaţi [ galats ʲ ] is a Romanian county ( Judet ) in the West region of Moldova with the county capital of Galaţi. Its common abbreviation and the license plate number are GL.
The circle Galaţi is bordered to the north by the Vaslui county, on the east by the Republic of Moldova, on the south by the counties of Tulcea and Braila, to the west and northwest by the district of Vrancea.

2011 had the circle Galaţi 536 167 inhabitants, thus a population density of 120 inhabitants per km ².
Geography
The county has a total area of 4466 km ²; this corresponds to 1.87 % of the area of Romania. Located in the east of Romania, the circle is located in the south of the historical region of Moldavia ( Principatul Moldovei ) east of the Eastern Carpathians. From the area of the village Vadeni in the north to the south of the circle Galaţi, the Prut River borders ( Prut ) from the east of the circle. In the south of the county of the rivers Danube and Siret ( Siret ) is limited. The landscape of the circle falls off in a southerly direction (5-10 m above sea level. M. ) from north (350 m above sea level. M. ).
