Galway Airport (Galway Airport or Irish Aerphort na Gaillimhe; IATA: GWY, ICAO code: EICM ) was an international airport in the Irish Carnmore, about 6.5 km east of the city of Galway.

History

At the site of Galway airport was initially a small private airfield, which was created by the German businessman and former Air Force officer Ernest Steiner. In 1987, the airport was expanded by the construction of a terminal and the expansion of the airstrip at 1200 m to an international airport.
