Gansu mole

The Gansu Mole ( Scapanulus oweni ) is an endemic species of mammal in China from the family of moles ( Talpidae ). He is mainly systematic interesting as it is more closely related to the American living than the other in Asia moles and is thus expected to Neuweltmaulwürfen.

Features

Gansu Moles reach a body length 10-11 inches, what still comes a 3.5 to 4 centimeters long, furred tail. Dissemination and lifestyle

Gansu moles inhabit a small area in China on the border of the provinces of Gansu, Shaanxi and Sichuan. About the way of life is as good as nothing is known. Two specimens were found in a mossy forest, only six animals were previously studied scientifically.
