Garapa

Guarapo is a Spanish name for the sugar cane juice. The sugar cane is pressed between rolling wheels and then poured into a container filled with shards of ice cup. The taste is more reminiscent of grass as sugar water. Guarapo is originally from Colombia and refers to a fermented beverage, which is derived from either sugar cane juice or from the " Panela ", a typical food from South America (hardened sugar cane juice), by the " panela " is dissolved in water and thus liquefies again. On the Canary island of La Gomera is the sweet juice that is extracted from the Canary palm, as guarapo called.
