Gardner Denver, Inc. is a company that provides industrial compressors, pumps, fans and other products for applications in compressed air and gas, vacuum and fluid transfer technologies manufactures and distributes worldwide.

History

The company was founded by Robert Gardner in 1859 under the name Gardner Governor Company. It first speed governor for steam engines here, from about 1900 also air compressors as well as steam pumps for the oil and gas industry. 1927, the company with the Denver Rock Drill Company merged to Gardner Denver. In the 1950s, Gardner Denver took over several companies.
