Garnett Silk

Garnett Silk ( born April 2, 1966; † December 10, 1994 ) was a Jamaican reggae musician.

Life

Garnett Silk Garnet Damion Smith was born in Greenvale, Manchester, Jamaica. He was known for his emotional, strong, silky ( "silky " ) voice. During the 1980s he was one of the most expected talents. He is still today, especially in Jamaica, as the new Bob Marley known. However, he died in 1994 along with his mother when their house burned down after a gas explosion.

Music

His debut album was " It 's Growing ", his first hit " Hello Mama Africa ". He collaborated with Buju Banton and King Tubby.

Perhaps his greatest work was that he dominated a time in the dancehall and slackness, was successful as a singer with conscious lyrics and increasingly conscious texts occurred after his death.
