Garry Disher

Garry Disher ( born August 15, 1949 in Burra, South Australia ) is an Australian writer.

Garry Disher writes next prose and detective novels and children, youth and non-fiction, about about Australian history. He studied at the Universities of Adelaide, La Trobe and Monash and was the 1978/79 Australian Creative Writing Fellow at Stanford University. His first novel was published in 1987. In Germany he was known primarily for his detective novels, especially through the row about the career criminal Wyatt.

Disher lives with his family on the Mornington, Victoria Peninsula.
