Garry Hart, Baron Hart of Chilton

Garry Hart, Baron Hart of Chilton ( born June 29, 1940) is a British Labour politician. From 1998 to 2007 he was an expert and personal adviser to the Lord Chancellor, first irvine by Baron and Baron Falconer.

Before he went into the civil service, he was a successful notary specializing in planning law ( planning solicitor ) together with Herbert Smith. His appointment was the subject of some controversy, but he won reputation, due to its positive influence on Lord Irvine and he was also a source of great advice for future Lord Chancellor, Lord Falconer ..

On June 4, 2004, he was raised as Baron Hart of Chilton for Life Peer.

When Lord Falconer in 2007 resigned, and Lord Hart resigned. He had never spoken in the House of Lords after his appointment as Life Peer, as this could cause conflicts of interest with his government role. 2007, however, he took the opportunity to give a speech on the occasion of the speech from the throne of the Queen.

Lord Hart lives in Chilton Hall in Suffolk with his wife and two children. Lord Hart is also godfather of Tony Blair's daughter Kathryn.
