Garry John Orriss

Garry John Orriss ( born October 7, 1967 in Sydney ) is a British- Australian painter and photographer. He lives and works in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg district.

Life

Garry Orriss has German, French, and Irish ancestry, and was adopted in childhood by an Australian pair of British origin.

In Sydney he studied from 1985 to 1988 at the Meadowbank School of Fine Art ( completion: Type Certificate ) and at the City Art Institute.

After he learned of his adoption, he traveled in the years 1990-1995 with a bicycle through 45 countries to the birthplace of his adoptive father to Oxford. Later he met his biological mother German, one living near Heilbronn artist and photographer.

His impressions he held in sketchbook diaries, drawings were published in several exhibitions.

Garry Orriss was created in 1999 for a short time to China, where he worked for several companies, including for Hotel Kempinski.

He was breaking mainly by its contrasting images of couples cultural, social, political or religious taboos known.
