Gaston Reinig

Gaston Reinig ( born November 17, 1956 in Diekirch, Luxembourg ) is the first general of Luxembourg.

Life

Early life

After his high-school completion occurred Gaston Reinig the Luxembourg army of volunteers at an officer. In 1976 he went to the " Ecole Royale Militaire " in Brussels and closed it successfully in social and military sciences. His professional duties as an officer based studies he conducted at the "Ecole d' Application de l' Infantry " in Montpellier further that in 1982, he also successfully completed. In the military training center he held from 1982 to 1998 the following items: platoon leader, leader of the basic training, infantry company commander, personnel manager, head of logistics and finally commander of the Diekirch headquarters.

Since 28 January 2002, he is commander of the military headquarters in Diekirch. On 31 December 2007 he was employed as a successor to the Chief of Staff Colonel Nico Ries and promoted in March 2008 for the first general in the history of the Luxembourg military.
