Gates of Ishtar
Gates of Ishtar was a melodic death metal band from Luleå, Sweden. At the suggestion of bassist Harald Åberg was called the band Gates of Ishtar, which is derived from a Babylonian goddess who seduces men and kills later. To the Andreas Johansson designed the band logo.
History
The band was founded in late 1992 by Mikael Sandorf, Andreas Johansson, Stefan Nilsson and Harald Åberg. A short time later joined with Thomas Jutenfäldt a second guitarist to. In May 1995 the band released their demo Seasons Of participated in Lucichrist studio on frost. The demo earned the band a contract with the Finnish record label Spinefarm Records, who took the band for an album under contract. In early 1996 the band went into Tico -Tico Studio in Finland to their debut album einzuspielen. A Bloodred Path was released in June of the same year. Because the contract just ran across an album the band received numerous offers from other companies, and because they were not satisfied with the thesis of Spinefarm, the band signed a contract for two albums on the German label Invasion Records.
Harald Åberg left the band before the recordings for the second album. At the suggestion of Thomas Jutenfäldt Danjel Rohr was committed for the recordings. In early 1997 the band recorded in the studio in Örebro Unisound under the direction of Dan Swanö the second album, The Dawn of Flames on. Was released the album in March. During the year, Johansson, Jutenfäldt and Nilsson left the band. They were replaced by Urban Carlsson and Oskar Karlsson. Mikael Sandorf took over in addition to singing still the bass.
1998 the third album " At Dusk and Forever ", which received good reviews. Shortly after the album's release, the owner of Invasion Records mysteriously disappeared way. Sign invasion Records for bankruptcy and the band broke up. Sandorf Carlsson and then founded the band The Duskfall.
