The Duskfall
The Duskfall was a Melodic Death Metal band from Luleå, Sweden. The main feature of the band's music is the blend of intense guitar solos, power metal melodies and Death-Metal-/Thrash-Metal-Riffs.
Band History
The band was formed in 1999 by guitarist Mikael Sandorf, after his old band Gates of Ishtar had dissolved. In the early years the band had originally " Soulash " was to fight with several lineup changes. Only when Sandorf could commit his former bandmates Oskar Karlsson as a drummer, the occupation stabilized.
In the summer of 2001 the band released Deliverance the first demo of the band. A short time later, the band signed a recording contract with the Greek company Black Lotus. In spring 2002, the debut album Frailty was taken. By Daniel Berg beach a renowned producer was obliged who has worked for bands like In Flames and Meshuggah. After the release of Frailty teamed up with Joachim Lindbäck a second guitarist of the band.
Again, the band went into mountain beach Dug -Out studio to record the second album source. Source was released in December 2003 and received rave reviews throughout Europe. The Besetzungskarussel turned on: Kaj Molin and Joachim Lindbäck left the band. With Antti Lindholm and Marco Eronen, however, could quickly replacements can be found.
The following year, the band was able to sign a contract with Nuclear Blast. In the autumn of 2005 appeared with Lifetime Supply of Guilt, the third album of the band. On the same day Nuclear Blast released a double CD with both published by Black Lotus previous albums, which were supplemented in each case by three demo recordings.
In September 2006, Marco Eronen left the band because he wanted to concentrate on his band Raised Fist. He was replaced by mat Järnil. On 26 October 2007 the latest album The Dying Wonders of the World was published.
In August 2008, the band gave their resolution, due to the departure of guitarist Mikael Sandorf known. Mikael's comment on his decision:
"For me, the time has come to leave after 9 years The Duskfall. About this decision, I have breathed in a long time, slept and thought. I have gone through with the rest of the guys a lot of good and joyful times, but to keep this band alive, my private life has required some sacrifices. I feel that we have managed to write four great albums together and to record, but for me it is now time to move on. I want to thank everyone who has worked on this trip, especially all the fans who have supported us during those years! You guys are great! I feel as if around the next corner waiting for a lot of creativity and have already plans for what comes next; so be patient and stay tuned for my next adventure. Love / / Mike "
2014 was the band on a newly established Facebook page announced their reunion. However, it is only left guitarist Mikael Sandorf, the remaining members are re-selected. Singer of the band is Magnus Klavborn, former singer of the band Angel.
