Engel (Band)
Angel is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg.
History
The band was founded by guitarist Niclas Engelin, who previously played already at Gardenian and Passenger and live guitarist for In Flames was. Their first demo was voted by the readers of the German "Rock Hard " magazine to the demo of 2005. As a reward angels were allowed to open the Rock Hard Festival 2006. The debut album Absolute Design was published on 2 November 2007. Bassist Michael Håkansson In August 2008, left the band and was replaced by Steve Drennan. Drummer Daniel " Mojjo " Moilanen left the band in 2010 and was replaced by Jimmy Olausson. The second album entitled Threnody appeared on July 4, 2010, initially in Japan, it was produced by Tue Madsen. The band was signed in September 2010 by the rock label Season of Mist. In Europe, Threnody was published on 12 November 2010. The third album Blood Of Saints appeared on May 18, 2012.
On 9 November 2012, the band announced that Magnus Klavborn will leave the band. The ex- twelvestep singer Lennart Nilsson, the Klavborn helped out once already due to a disease, Magnus took on the rest of the tour. On 4 January 2013, the band announced on their Facebook page that Mikael Sehlin will be the new singer of the band.
