Gaume

The Gaume is a historical region of Belgium, which forms part of the Province of Luxembourg today. She is regarded as the francophone part of the " Belgian Lorraine ," in distinction to Areler country which is attributed to the Germanic language area.

As the capital of the Gaume applies Virton. The boundaries of the Gaume agree about match those of the arrondissements Virton.

Characteristic of the Gaume is a particular dialect, the " Gaumais ".
