Gauricus (crater)

Gauricus is an impact crater in the southern lunar front side, south of the Mare Nubium, south of the crater Pitatus (crater ) and east of Wurzelbauer. The crater is heavily eroded, the interior is largely flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Italian astronomer and Bishop Lucas Gauricus.
